Burr Myrtle Centre Table

Burr Myrtle Centre Table

This new design is inspired by a "Specimen" table of the Regency period and utilises several unusual show-woods. Specially selected mellow burr Myrtle veneers are used for the 12 main radial sections of the top and also for the column and platform base.

The top features a central 8-pointed star inlay of Bubinga (sometimes called "African rosewood") and Yew-wood. Five different veneer species are laid in an attractive geometric design around the edge of the top, which is crossbanded in Lauro Preto and decorated with inlaid stringing in Bubinga.

Solid Bubinga is also used for the delicately shaped feet. The table is skillfully hand polished and waxed to emphasise the natural beauty of the different woods used.
