Walnut Chest of Drawers

A highly desirable walnut chest with two short drawers over 3 graduated, lockable, full width drawers. The top is quarter veneered with burr walnut in the traditional fashion and the drawer fronts feature book-matched burr walnut, crossbanded on the edge with an inner line of walnut "herringbone" inlay.

The edge mouldings to the drawers and top are from solid cross-grain walnut as is the quadrant moulding to the top of the base section. The pierced brass plate handles and escutcheons are typical of designs used in the early 18th Century.
