Mahogany Dining Chairs

Mahogany Dining Chairs

The design developed by Stephen Hunter for this chair demonstrates beautifully the restrained, elegant appearance of English dining furniture of ca. 1760. Whilst these delightful chairs incorporate a basically simple pierced back splat typical of the period, the design includes "under and over" carving to the individual ribbon shaped sections of the back. Beautiful hand-carved accents throughout lend just the right degree of sophistication to what many would consider a most desirable "country" design.
